Carlo Colombo is considered to be one of the most important Italian architects and designers. From the beginning of his career he designed for top level brands. From this moment he collected a lot of collaborations with the most important “made in Italy” design brands like AntonioLupi, FontanaArte, Cappellini, De Padova, Flou, Bentley Home, Flexform, iGuzzini, Trussardi Casa,Giorgetti, Poliform, Bugatti Home, Poltrona Frau, Teuco, Baxter, Varenna, Zanotta, to mention just few. Beyond designing products and furniture, Colombo also takes care of strategy and marketing for the companies and he curates exhibitions, works as a consultant and art director. His work was initially focused in design and interior, but extended also into construction, in Italy and abroad. In 2004 the architect recived the title of Designer of the year; in 2009 he won an international competition for the design of two towers in Abu Dhabi and from 2011 he teaches design at De Tao Masters Academy of Beijing. He received many other awards, the Elle Decor International Design Award in 2005, 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2016, the Good Design Award of the European Centre for Architecture Art Design and the Chicago Athenaeum in 2009.
In 2012 he won the Red Dot Design Award, in 2014 the “Best of the Best” Red Dot Design Award, the Interior Innovation Award, the Design London Award and the iF Design Award. In 2015 he again the “Best of the Best” Red Dot Design Award and the iF Design Award. Today his studio deals with large scale projects all over the world, from design to interiors and architecture.In 2013 he founded the architectural firm A++ together with his partner Paolo Colombo, with headquarters in Lugano, Zurich, Miami and Dubai, studio that deals with large-scale design worldwide, from architecture to interior.
In 2016 Carlo Colombo begins the journey as an artist with the presentation of his first work of art, 784, exhibited at the Milan Triennale with preface by Prof. Sgarbi.
In December 2016 Carlo Colombo was nominated one of the “100 Italian excellences” by a jury of the most important italian professionists in different areas. In 2017, he was awarded the Cavaliere's title by the Italian Consul in Lugano. Today the studio deals with large-scale design all over the world, from interior design to architecture.
